Beautyfull Kat von D tattoo women in arm

Kat von D of Miami Ink and her own spin-off LA Ink, may be the busiest woman on TV as of late. Currently, von D is in LA shooting the third installment of her show, LA Ink, which currently tops TLC’s ratings. She is also developing a skin care line at cosmetic chain Sephora, which is said to include tattoo concealer, and is also working on another book – likely to be a best seller! High Voltage Tattoo is a compilation of her work, trailing her start as a tattoo artist from childhood to her recent work. The book also includes information about her show, her inspirations, her shop and her personal tattoos. Covering this much ground may be one of the wisest business moves for any reality star to date.

This professional and reality star is really setting the bar when it comes to branding oneself, and she seems to do it with such ease. By branching into so many different forays, von D is surely going to be around for a long time to come!

Kat Von D High Voltage Tattoo

Last week I picked up Kat Von D's first book entitled High Voltage Tattoo, I was pretty excited to flip through it because I've been wanting her to release a compilation of her tattoo work for a long time. I think the skills she has in terms of rendering realistic imagery onto the skin are just mind blowing.

I first became familiar with her work on the TLC show Miami Ink, on that show she was the only female crew member of an all male tattoo shop, although the men on the show had some great skills of their own hers really stood out to me. Before I saw her work I didn't give much thought to the artistry that really goes into tattooing, I didn't know much about it or had any respect for it, but seeing the things she was able to accomplish with a needle, ink and skin, were really amazing to me. It made me look at tattooing on a whole other level and her attention to detail, the intricacy and Baroque inspired artistry that she puts in her work are really inspiring to me.

Tribal shoulder tattoos design for man

Sleeve death metal tattoo design

I wish I knew what this was, I really do. It looks like a totem pole of demons? With some kind of weird scarred-out blob in the middle. Is it a tribal-mutant batman logo? AND DO YOU SEE THE SCRATCHED UP FETUS ON HIS ELBOW? I mean really, how could you miss that? I don't even know what the stuff on his forearm is. If anyone can help decipher this, please let me know! I was staring at this guy for ages trying to figure it out.
I wish I knew what was on his back, too. You can see a bit of it poking out. I bet it's incredible.

Death Metal tattoos designs

I went to the Maryland Deathfest this past weekend and OH BOY did I see so many amazing metal tattoos! One million distorted zombies! Ten thousand blurry black and white messes of somethingorother! A good handful of band logos! I have a LOT to share with you guys, but let me start with this gem (perhaps the best of the bunch). THAT GIRL IS TRUE. EVIL. I love the fancy flourishes added to each word, it really rubs in the brutality of her tattoo.

What better way to illustrate your star sign, than with a zodiac tattoo. Here at Tattoo Fashion, we have a fantastic gallery of zodiac tattoo designs that will get all tattoo lovers talking. We offer all the zodiac tattoos from the astrological chart - making our zodiac tattoos look just like the real thing!

Zodiac denotes an annual cycle of twelve stations or "signs" along the ecliptic, the apparent path of the Sun across the heavens, dividing the ecliptic into twelve equal zones of celestial longitude. As such, the zodiac is a celestial coordinate system, more precisely an ecliptic coordinate system, taking the ecliptic as the origin of latitude, and the position of the sun at vernal equinox as the origin of longitude.

Ribs sleeve Zodiac Tattoo by Face Tattoo

That's why they don't come out as good on yours skin as it looked on paper. Many people don't realize it, but by then it is a little bit too late. That will be a Zodiac tattoo design that you might just end up hating on your body in a few years time. Not only that, but most of the tattoos you find thorough Google and Yahoo are way over seven/eight years old. Old tattoos aren't necessarily a bad thing sometimes, but it is a bad thing if you are looking for the newest of the new stuff.

Japanese Dragon Tattoo Designs and Meaning

The Japanese Dragon Tattoo is a very beautiful and colorful tattoo design and very symbolic, with its origins in myths and folklore. It is also very mystical, adding to the appeal of the Japanese dragon tattoo. Over the ages, from Egyptian times the dragon has represented good and also represented evil. However, the attraction of the Japanese dragon, apart from its stunning beauty is that it represents good luck and the source of wealth. The Japanese dragon also represents the meaning of freedom and being fearless, both very attractive qualities.

In the Greek language, dragon is sourced from draca, which means serpent.

Like the angel, the Japanese Dragon also has the meaning of guardianship, providing a protective force over those it was associated with. Other meanings associated with the Japanese dragon is strength and power. In Japanese culture the dragon is associated with supernatural powers, and amazing wisdom.

There are six forms of the Japanese Dragon. They are:

Sui-Riu is the king Dragon and is in control of the rain. Therefore in this day and age of drought he is all powerful!

Han-Riu has many stripes on his body and is up to forty feet in length. One of the biggest dragons.

Ri-Riu dragon is a rare breed that is not well understood. However, it is known that they have amazing eye sight.

Ka-Riu is a brilliant red color, and a petite dragon in comparison with the others.

Fuku-Riu is a favorite dragon of many people as it is the dragon of luck.

Hai-Riyo is known as the dragon bird, and the most advanced form of dragon. It evolved out of Chinese mythology.

The colors of the dragons have special significance, which are based on their parents. For example a dragon with a black color means their parents are very old and wise. Green dragons are smaller than average, but are representative of life and of the earth. Gold colored dragons are special because they have many special attributes such as wisdom, kindness and the ability to face challenges head on.

Yellow dragons represent the east. They are great companions when you need a hand, but can be self absorbed at times. Blue dragons are from the west. They are forgiving and compassionate, but on the negative side can be lazy and uncaring when it suits them.

Finding the right Japanese Tattoo Design for you can be quite daunting. Check out all the free sites on the net to get as many ideas as you can. Just remember that many other people have done the same thing to get ideas. For example, last month, over 41,000 people searched for dragon tattoo designs on Yahoo. Apparently, roughly 8 times that amount check out Google for the same search term. Then there is MSN and the other search engines. So a huge amount of people see the same free designs as you. If you want original Japanese Dragon tattoo designs, it is recommended that you check out books or other sources of tattoo designs that are not freely available. I have checked out three Japanese dragon tattoo galleries on the internet that have from 3,500 to 6000 different designs, so you will have no trouble finding what you want.

Amazing And Unique Dragon Tattoo Designs

One of the most popular and commonly seen tattoo designs are the dragon tribal tattoos. Many people have always been attracted to dragons and these tattoo designs can be inked any where on the body. It's because of this versatility why dragon tattoos are so popular. They symbolize power, danger, luck, freedom, rage, and destruction. Men are seen as the guardians of their family, so some men get images of dragons tattooed on their body to represent protection.

Although some people get dragon tribal tattoos to follow their tradition, others get these tattoos simply because they love them. There are many different designs and as you can expect, all of them are unique in their own way. Take a look at the top 4 dragon tattoo designs.

1. Western Dragon Tattoos: These tattoos symbolize anger, wrong doing, anger, or negative energy and the designs include four strong legs, a wedged shaped head, pointed teeth, and a large set of wings.

2. Eastern Dragon Tattoos: These tattoos symbolize luck and positive energy unlike it's western counterpart. They have beards with whiskers and a long slender body with four short legs. Red or green are the traditional colors of the eastern dragon tattoo.

3. Japanese Dragon Tattoos: These tattoo designs represent freedom, power, and kindness. You will often find this dragon design on the arm rather than any other body part. Bird Tattoos Designs Have Taken Precedence

In the days of old, heroes were always accompanied by birds as they went in pursuit of fiends, ogres, dragons and monsters. In most tales of yore, the birds would fly ahead to spy and return to inform the hero of looming obstacles, thus bringing about the famous phrase, 'a little bird told me'!

Bird tattoos are also very popular due to their connection with religion as well as the mystical. Birds can be found in every era of history; stick figurines of birds have been discovered in the ancient Egyptian tombs in the pyramids, bedecking Arapaho Ghost Dance costumes, at African traditional rituals and weddings across all religions. Christian portrayals of cherubs and angels show them having wings, which are synonymous with birds. In almost all instances, birds are symbols of all the positive things in life, which is why many people tend to go for bird tattoo designs, especially for their first tattoos.

A bird tattoo design will consist of a pair of birds, depicted together. They tend to be opposites in characteristics; fair to dark, black to white, big to small. This merely shows the dual nature of the universe; where sadness exists, so does happiness. Where night exists, so does day. In other cases, good and evil are also portrayed by birds, for example, when we have a bird tattoo design of a bird fighting a serpent.

Decidedly, there are some implications to birds that are not completely normal. In China, the bird is called the niao, which also means penis, thereby bringing in sexual overtones into bird tattoos. Also, the double meaning of a cock as either a rooster or a penis dates back to eras past in the Rome of old. Some portrayals of birds are quite negative in impact. In Germany, to be insane can be put politely as to 'have a bird'! 'Bird-brain' is also one of the most famous insults in the Western World, although most people do not associate these negative impressions with bird tattoos designs.

You can get plenty of bird tattoo designs on the internet. In the animal kingdom, bird tattoo designs are only a small part of the entire spectrum. To see other types of animal tattoos, do visit our pages on animal tattoos, insect and reptile tattoos, and sea world tattoos!

How to Choose Back Tattoo Designs

Decide on the exact plament of your back tattoos. Will it be on your upper back, lower back or whole back. This will enable you to decide on the shape and style of the design that you will go for as you can make it symmetrical to the body area that you will go for. If its on your upper or lower back, you can go from small to medium tats. If you want intricate and detailed designs with lots of elements, you might want to go for a full back design.

Choose a design that has meaning to you. Do you have a believe or philosophy in life that you live by? Maybe you can express it through quotes which will look great on any part of your back as script tattoos. Or you can represent it through symbols. Have you been through at tough time in your life and you just want to be strong and move in. Why not go for koi fish, lotus or cherry blossoms? These symbols have very meaningful connotations attached to them. You can also show your personality through the elements associated with your zodia signs or you might want to honor a loved one who passed away. Tattoo imagery such as angels, cross or flowers can be fitting for this type of theme.
